Commissioning Lead – Data Centre – Portugal

Our client is a dedicated Data Centre Construction company providing turnkey solutions to our clients, headquartered in Dublin and delivering throughout Europe. As an engineering-focused organisation, they have grown to become one of the leading and most trusted companies in our sector. We are currently constructing multiple Turnkey Data Centre Projects across Europe, equating to over 500 MW of IT load in flight.
We are pleased to announce that we are currently seeking an experienced Commissioning Lead to join our team. This position will be based on-site in Portugal.

Responsibilities

MEP Commissioning Leadership
Oversee and coordinate all mechanical, electrical, and plumbing commissioning activities to ensure alignment with project timelines, quality standards, and technical requirements.
Commissioning Planning & Documentation
Develop, maintain, and execute the commissioning plan, including test procedures, documentation logs, tracking systems, and compliance records.
Stakeholder Coordination
Liaise with subcontractors, suppliers, consultants, and internal teams to confirm scope, readiness for testing, delivery of required documentation, and resolution of commissioning-related issues.
Testing, Verification & Compliance
Manage the execution of functional testing, systems verification, and sign-off processes to ensure all MEP systems meet design intent, client specifications, and regulatory requirements.
Reporting & Handover Management
Prepare and deliver commissioning progress updates, risk assessments, and handover documentation to the main contractor’s management team and the client.

Requirements

Must have relevant degree level qualifications or equivalent trades’ background
Must have 10+ years’ experience in a similar role on large scale construction projects (preferably Data Centres)
Must have EU Passport or RTW in Portugal
